THINGS TO DO
Authentic Greek charm
Set on the east coast of Rhodes, the teeny resort of Pefkos takes its name from the pine trees fringing its sandy beach. It’s a former fishing village that hasn’t lost its old-world charm – as you’ll see from the welcoming bars and restaurants along its two main streets. The appeal here is the slow tempo, but livelier Lindos is close by and heritage-packed Rhodes Town is just up the coast, too.
Blue Flag beach
Pefkos’ Blue Flag beach is made from soft, golden sand that curves around a sleepy bay backed by pine forests. At the far end, there are some rocky coves that make great little swimming spots, and the gin-clear water is always popular with snorkellers. Watersports fans will find plenty to keep them busy here, too, with kite-surfing and windsurfing on offer.
Laid-back nightlife
Pefkos really isn’t one of those resorts that turn into a party animal at night. Apart from a couple of livelier spots with karaoke and DJs, most of the bars along the simply-named Main Road and Main Beach Road deal in friendly conversation over cocktails and cold beers. Or, there’s always the option of relaxing over an ouzo at one of the lantern-lit tavernas.
Daytrips to Rhodes Town
An hour’s drive takes you to the capital, Rhodes Town. This UNESCO-stamped favorite is a real heritage hotspot. Behind its Medieval walls, the must-see sights include the Street of the Knights and the impressive fortress, the Palace of the Grand Master. The narrow cobbled streets also lead to designer boutiques, traditional craft shops and trendy bars.
Family & Children
There is plenty to do in Pefkos, and it is also suitable for a vacation with your family as it is a safe and friendly environment for children.
Resort
Holidays to Pefkos take you to a friendly Greek resort where the pace is set to slow. Expect chilled-out evenings and lazy days stretched out on a Blue Flag beach. The resort of Pefkos has long been a favorite summer retreat for Indians and Rhodians alike. If your looking for a quiet holiday in Rhodes but still don't want to miss out on amenities and fair nightlife opportunities, then Pefkos is a perfect resort to relax.
Pefkos
PEFKOS, once a small fishing village, now enjoys its status as a major tourist resort and is situated in the hilly southeast of Rhodes just 4.5 km from picturesque Lindos.
The coastal road that connects Lindos and Lardos passes through Pefkos and this waterfront location with sandy beaches makes Pefkos ideal for tourists throughout the season.
Tavernas, shops, and cafe bars can be found lining the main streets of the village, in the evening the resort comes alive with something for everyone’s taste ranging from quiet restaurants to lively bars.
Sandy beaches slope gently into the magnificent crystal blue sea waters and spread along the coast at the foot of a pine-clad hillside.
Apart from summer homes belonging to people from Lindos, this relatively low profile resort area is made up of small hotels and rooms to let, occupied chiefly by groups of Scandinavians, British, Germans and Austrians.
